We Have a 4 Month Old

Luke just passed the 4 month mark. He is still a happy, joyful baby. He adores Ellie and has even come around on Tommy, flashing him big smiles as well. He has begun reaching out for objects, constantly has his hands in his mouth, and has started drooling. He is sleeping through the night on most nights. He doesn't love being alone, so he cries if no one is in his eyesight. He is a big, big boy...16 pounds at his 4 month check up. He is a special, jolly soul.

Kisses from cousin Isabel.

With his good friend Emme.

Loves his mobile.

Meeting the Penguins

The penguins came to the KC Zoo and we made a trip to see them on opening day. In the freezing cold. In a line of 300 people. They were actually worth it; it is an amazing exhibit.

Zoo Trip

Gotta love a quiet day at the zoo. I took the kids out there on a Monday and we had the run of the place which meant multiple carousel and train rides.

Clowns.

They never get tired of it.

Even Luke liked it.

Buddies.

Pretty gal.

Fall Day at Deanna Rose

We had a fun trip to Deanna Rose the other day...Tommy finally got to take his first pony ride, which has been a sore subject in previous trips there. It was a perfect day out, and we enjoyed the morning with friends.

3 Month Old Luke

Well 3 month old Luke was a MUCH happier boy than before. Still every bit as smiley and flirty, but now for far longer stints of time. He was starting to sleep for much longer, usually only waking up once a night, for which we were very grateful. He also started to get very chatty, especially right before he went to bed. He would just squeak and chatter for 20 or 30 minutes to anyone that listened. He started filling out in his cheeks, and got stronger in his neck. He has brought so much joy to us. The kids love showing him off at school and now that he smiles when he sees them, well they think that is amazing.

Here are some shots of him making his way through month 3.

Luke's Baptism

We had Luke baptized at our church recently in a great ceremony that required our family to go up during service to watch. We managed not to cause too much commotion, even with Tommy flashing multiple thumbs up to Papa. It was a nice day!

First Day of School

Well the first day of school came and went. Ellie is an old pro at her school by now, and walked right on in on day 1, already knowing her teachers and several friends. It's hard to believe she will be in kindergarten next year.

Here's Ellie working away on Day 1.

Tommy was so excited to go to "Ellie's school" this year. He was thrilled to get his own red school bag like Ellie. Now Tommy has never been a child who has liked drop offs, but for some reason drop off on his first day was a breeze. He went  in like a big boy and had a great day!

I think part of the appeal was that his teachers had him choose how he wanted to be greeted by looking at a piece of paper...with a handshake, a hug or a high five. He was excited to make that choice. Here he is choosing.

You Go to Big Sis When You Are Scared

I took this one day during a "scary" part of Beauty and the Beast...Tommy moved over to Ellie to make him feel better.
