Ellie's New Room

We moved Ellie into her new room this past weekend.  Her room is yellow and has a big girl bed!  She did pretty well for the first couple of nights, woke up a few times but otherwise had good nights sleeping.  She slept all the way through the night on night number 3, and we have yet to receive a late night visit from her...although I am sure those will start sometime here in the near future.

New twin bed, bookshelves and some flowers

Lots of yellow!

Going to add a mirror over the dresser

Painting with Dad

We all know that Mikey is very handy around the house.  He replaced some rotting wood by our garage and needed to paint in order to finish it.  He found a pretty handy helper in Ellie.  Special thanks to Grandma Postlewait for Ellie's paint shirt, and to Dad for putting it on her, saving me from having a heart attack when I walked out to check them out.

Getting the lowdown on how to do it

Off to a good start

Ellie got the hang of it pretty quickly.  Her paint shirt MIGHT be a little long.

Reaching high so she won't miss a spot

Mugging for the camera.

Pumpkin Patch...Take Two

We went to another Pumpkin Patch, this time with Bruce, Jenny, Trey and Harper Pendleton.  We headed out to Belton, Missouri and added some pumpkins and mums to our house decorations.

Family Update...

Well, it has been a long week for the Burgess family.  Amy went to San Francisco on October 6th for a tradeshow to launch some new products she has been working on.  There is a picture below of the 20 minutes I got to spend outside.  I returned to go straight into another work conference, which ended last night.  Whew!

Mikey took great care of Ellie while I was gone.  They had all sorts of adventures, and I came home to a clean house, laundry finished, and even a cupcake waiting on me in the fridge.  Really happy about that.

Here is a great picture Mikey sent me while I was gone of a just-woken-up Ellie and Maddy.

I also wanted to give everyone an update on Baby Boy Burgess...we have about six weeks to go!!!  He is growing quickly, about 4 pounds right now.  He has been healthy so far, which we are thrilled about.  Having two conferences back to back at 8 months pregnant wasn't a ton of fun, but I am happy they are through so we can start concentrating on the new little man joining our family!!  PS - If you ask Ellie what her little brother's name is, her answer is "Yellow.  Yellow Burgess".  Yellow happens to be her favorite color, and she is rather insistent that this be her brother's name.  We are taking it under advisement.  :)

A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We had a great visit to Carolyn's Country Cousin's Pumpkin Patch.  They had so many things for Ellie to do.  It was a cold weekend, temps in the high 50s.  We took a lot of pictures and went home with a carload of pumpkins.

Going through a tunnel

Riding a tricycle, it was pretty big so Dad helped out

Dad teaching Ellie how to pump water

She caught on pretty quickly

Learning how to rope and ride

More practice riding

A tractor merry-go-round

She drove the tractor really well!

Gazing into the chicken pen...before the chicken pecked her hard on her hand.  There were lots of tears after that.

Returning to the scene of the crime, telling the chicken "No, no chicken - no biting!"

The baby goat treated her better....

How Tall this Fall?  Almost 3 feet!  She can measure her height AND eat a lollipop at the same time.

We took a train ride, Ellie's favorite part!

She got to check everything out...if you look closely you can see Ellie's little brother stuffed in the white jacket beside her.

Good family picture to cap off the day.
